Doncaster Rovers head into the new championship season unbeaten in pre-season after a 2-1 win at Bradford City.
Rovers won thanks to goals from David Cotterill and Kyle Bennett, who scored either side of a Gary Thompson goal for Bradford.
Richie Wellens, who has been training with Rovers this week, and Tottenham Hotspur trialist Bongani Khumalo started the game.
Cotterill gave Rovers the lead halfway through the first half when he fired across the Bradford goal after taking a short corner.
Young goalkeeper Jonathan Maxted was again given the opportunity to impress for Rovers with no senior goalkeeper yet to arrive at the Keepmoat and he did well to deny Nahki Wells early in the second half.
Bradford equalised ten minutes into the second half when Thompson charged down an attempted clearance by Maxted and the rebound bounced over the line.
Bennett thought he had restored Rovers lead when he had the ball in the net but his effort was ruled out for offside.
Bennett claimed the winner with just five minutes remaining when an effort from James Coppinger deflected off Bennett and into the net.
Rovers will now prepare for their opening championship game of the season against Blackpool next weekend, hopefully with a few new faces in the squad between now and then.
