Doncaster Rovers have been dealt a huge injury blow with the news that defender Craig Alcock will miss the first three-months of the season.

Alcock was stretchered from the field in the pre-season friendly draw with Newcastle United last week and the Doncaster Free Press are reporting that the defender will miss the first three-months of the season.

Doncaster have suffered an injury ravaged pre-season and they had to postpone their friendly at the weekend at Kidderminster Harriers as the injuries mounted.

As well as Alcock, Joe Wright, Harry Middleton and Joey McCormick were all forced off in the game with Newcastle.

Paul Keegan and Gary McSheffrey are yet to feature in pre-season and new signing Mathieu Baudry is not expected to return from injury until mid-August.
