Doncaster Rovers bowed out of the FA Youth Cup at Chelsea after a spirited display against the Premier League side.

Chelsea went through 2-1 but not before a scare.

Rovers made the perfect start in the first minute when Liam Wakefield headed them into the lead.

It wasn`t long before Chelsea were back on level terms when Jon Swift beat Jon Maxted from close range.

The game could have been different had Chelsea been reduced to ten men in the first half When Adam Niditi was lucky to receive just a yellow card for a strong tackle on Paddy Mullen.

Chelsea booked their place in the next round with just eighteen minutes remaining when Lucas Piazon beat Maxted in the Rovers goal with the help of a deflection.
