Burnley defender Tom Anderson has returned to Doncaster Rovers to continue his rehabilitation from a fractured cheekbone.

The central defender was forced to return to the Premier League club after suffering a fractured cheekbone in the clash at Rotherham United last month following an accidental collision with goalkeeper and teammate Marko Marosi.

Anderson, who joined Doncaster on loan for the remainder of the season, is not expected to return to first team action for another month, with the clash at MK Dons on Saturday 14th April his current target for a return.

Doncaster have a hectic schedule in the final month of the season and despite their being just three weeks of the season remaining when he is expected to return, Doncaster still face six-games.

The 24-year-old had impressed in the Doncaster defence following his arrival on loan in January and he had made five appearances before the injury. Anderson also scored twice for Doncaster in their 3-0 win against Fleetwood Town.
