In a strange twist of fate, Doncaster Rovers will line up against their former assistant manager and manager in the opening week of the season after Richard O`Kelly was appointed assistant manager at Walsall.

Rovers travel to Walsall on the opening weekend of the season before entertaining Crawley Town, who are now managed by former boss Sean O`Driscoll on the second Saturday of the season.

O`Driscoll has recently been appointed as the boss of Crawley Town after assisting Steve Cotterill at Nottingham Forest last season following his and O`Kelly`s departure from Rovers in September.

O`Kelly turned down the opportunity to work with his former boss at Doncaster Rovers, to return to Walsall, where he had a short stint last season following his sacking at Rovers alongside O`Driscoll.

The 55 year old also had a short spell as manager at Hereford last season but he could not prevent the bulls losing their league status despite winning their final two games of the season.
