Former Doncaster Rovers assistant manager Richard O`Kelly has turned down the manager`s post at Hereford United.

The former assistant at Rovers to Sean O`Driscoll had been in charge of the bulls since March but he could not prevent the club slipping back into non-league football following their relegation from League Two.

O`Kelly was in charge of twelve games and despite winning their last two games of the season, they failed to move out of the relegation zone with Barnet, the side above them also winning their last two games.

Hereford offered O`Kelly the job on a full time basis at the end of the season, something that he has now decided against.

It could be that O`Kelly might be about to team up with O`Driscoll again. The former Rovers boss is reported to be on the verge of being appointed the manager at Crawley Town, who will be in League One alongside Rovers next season.
