Sean O`Driscoll continues to be strongly linked with the Burnley job as his odds continue to tumble.

O`Driscoll is now the favourite to succeed Owen Coyle with a number of betting firms after opening the day on Monday at 25/1.

Rumours are that Burnley Chairman Barry Kilby and director Brendan Flood interviewed O`Driscoll for the post on Sunday.

Doncaster Rovers Chairman John Ryan is desperate to keep hold of his manager though and rumours are that he will be wanting around £1 million componsenation.

‘We don’t want to lose Sean, but should it happen we shall be seeking serious compensation,’ said Ryan in The Sun.

The former Bournemouth boss has been at Doncaster since 2006 and has led them to Johnstone`s Paint Trophy success in 2007 and the League One play off final winners in 2008.

The club finished fourteenth in their first season in the Championship last season and are currently in fifteenth place this season.

O`Driscoll`s side have a great reputation for their style of passing football and earned them the nickname ‘The Arsenal of League One` during their promotion season.
