Doncaster Rovers manager Sean O`Driscoll is keen to sign defender Wayne Thomas after a successful loan spell at the club.

Speaking on the official website, O`Driscoll said, “I can envisage us making some kind of deal, whether it gets accepted, I`m not to sure.”

Thomas has played a part in Rovers final two pre season games against West Brom and Sheffield Wednesday and helped the side keep two clean sheets.

The 31 year old was released by Southampton at the end of last season after three years with the south coast club.

An experienced defender who can play at right back or the centre of defence has made almost 400 appearances in a 15-year career at Torquay, Stoke, Burnley and Southampton.

Rovers have so far signed just Josh Payne this summer after having a trial period at the club.
