Rovers boss Sean O`Driscoll was a happy man after Rover three day break in the Lake Districts culminated in a pre season victory at Barrow at the weekend.
Speaking on the official website O`Driscoll said “We`ve not touched a ball for three days, so to come here and play the way that we did, I am delighted”.
O`Driscoll used the game on Saturday to give the vast majority a run out.
The boss was delighted with the contribution of young Robbie Clark who scored his first senior goal for the club with a sweetly hit long range effort.
Speaking about Robbie, O`Driscoll said “Robbie has impressed with his attitude and willingness to jump in with two feet, metaphorically speaking, into everything that we do”.
18 year old midfielder Clarke has come through Rovers youth system and could become an important part of the Rovers squad this coming season with them still not signing any new players this summer.
An already small squad has been made smaller since the end of last season with five players being released and the recent sale of Richie Wellens to Leicester City.
Rovers travel to near neighbours Rotherham United for their next pre season game this coming Saturday, July 25th.
