Doncaster Rovers defender James O`Connor has signed for championship side Derby County.

The defender has signed a two-year deal at Pride Park for an undisclosed fee.

O`Connor spent six years with Rovers and he was an integral part of the side that won both the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy in 2007 and the League One play off final in 2008.

The 27 year old made 242 appearances for Rovers and he was named the clubs player of the year in 2009/10.

O`Connor joins George Friend in departing the Keepmoat Stadium this week.
