Doncaster Rovers have decided against appealing the red card shown to Billy Paynter in the game with Sheffield United on Tuesday.

Paynter was shown a straight red card late in the game after a tangle with Sheffield United player Tony McMahon.

Rovers boss Dean Saunders planned to appeal to the FA against the red card but admitted defeat after failing to find sufficient video evidence of the incident to clear Paynter.

Paynter will now serve a three-match suspension starting with the home game against Colchester United on Saturday.
