BBC Sport have announced their format for the new Football League season.

BBC will now show the Championship as well as League One and League Two highlights taking over from the highlights show on ITV on a Sunday morning.

The highlights programme which will be called ‘The Football League show` will first be shown on Saturday 8th August at 11.10pm.

The programme is planned to follow Match of the Day on a Saturday evening.

BBC will also show ten live Championship games throughout the season as well as Carling Cup highlights and the end of season Play Offs.

Sky Sports will still continue to show live League football with 80 live matches planned for the 2009/10 season including all the end of season Play off matches.

Doncaster Rovers have yet to be chosen for a live game on either the BBC or Sky Sports.
