Doncaster Rovers defender Matt Mills took the clubs player of the year award at clubs presentation night this week.

Mills a £300,000 signing from Manchester City last summer has been an integral part of Rovers defence over the past two seasons after coming to the club initially on loan for the 2007/08 season.

Birmingham City have been chasing the defender for most of the season. Rovers chairman values the defender at £5 million and says the defender will not leave cheaply.

Also taking awards at the presentation evening were Captain Brian Stock who took the players player of the year and Martin Woods who won the goal of the season for his goal at Nottingham Forest.

Veteran keeper Neil Sullivan took the moment of the season award for his display in the FA Cup draw with Aston Villa.

Defender Charles Fisher took the young player of the year award.
