Matt Mills returned to action for the first time after his knee operation, in a behind closed doors friendly against Chesterfield.

The much wanted centre back who continues to be chased by a number of clubs played 45 minutes of the game and assistant manager Richard O`Kelly speaking in the Sheffield Star said “He was pleased with the exercise. Matt came through without any problems and, like the rest of the lads, played 45 minutes.”

Rovers will have a hard struggle to hold onto their £2 million rated defender this summer with another fellow Championship club Middlesbrough now rumoured to be showing an interest in his services.
