Sean McDaid is hoping to put eighteen month`s of injury torment behind him after finally returning to training this week.

The 23 year old player who can play at left back or on the left side of midfield has not played since suffering a serious dislocation to his knee in a practice match early in 2008.

He was close to returning last season before suffering a reaction to his knee injury caused a further delay. After further tests a separate injury was found which was causing the problem with his knee.

This led to him once again going under the surgeon`s knife, which has ruled him out until now.

He`s just completed a successful two weeks rehabilitation programme at Lilleshall and he now looks to step up his training and match fitness.

Rovers may look to loan out the defender to help with his progress.
