Aston Villa youngster Niall Mason says he turned down offers from higher division clubs to commit his future to Doncaster Rovers.
Mason has signed a two-year deal at the Keepmoat Stadium after a successful season on loan from Aston Villa.
Doncaster have paid an undisclosed fee for Mason, who says he has joined the club because of the potential.
“I had a couple of options to go a bit higher up the pyramid, but this is a great platform for me. I am working with a manager and coaching staff who know my game inside out and can get the best out of me,” Mason told the Doncaster Rovers official website.
“They`ve all been really good to me and helped me develop, they`re probably the best coaching staff in League Two. They are only going to help me progress as a player.
“You can see the potential of the club, we have a good stadium and training facilities, and it has everything going for it really.
“We`re not going up to League One just to take part, we`re going up to give it a good go.”
Mason helped Doncaster win promotion to League One next season, playing an integral part in the side.
The 20-year-old made 42 appearances for Doncaster and he showed his versatility, featuring in both defence and midfield.
