Doncaster Rovers defender Shelton Martis could be a doubt for the game with Reading on Tuesday night after picking up a groin injury in the draw at West Ham.
Martis was forced off with fifteen minutes remaining after feeling his groin.
Saunders is hoping the defender is ok for the game with Reading on Tuesday night, with Saunders stating the player is on top form at the moment.
Speaking on Radio Sheffield, Saunders said, “I just hope Shelton`s groin is ok because he is playing out of his skin.”
Martis has had an injury-ravaged season and his appearance at West Ham was just his thirteenth appearance this season.
Rovers were boosted at West Ham by fellow defender Tommy Spurr overcoming the groin injury he picked up last midweek in the win at Nottingham Forest.
Saunders has a number of options should Martis fail to recover in time for Tuesday.
The Rovers boss added defender Herita Ilunga to the squad on a month`s loan last week and he also has Sam Hird, Adam Lockwood, James O`Connor, Mustapha Dumbuya, James Chambers and Lamine Diatta available to him in defence.
