On loan Doncaster Rovers midfielder John Lundstram has been forced to withdraw from the England under-19 squad for their friendly with Turkey on Thursday night through injury.

The Everton midfielder, who has just extended his loan with Rovers until the end of the season, was forced to withdraw after joining up with the England squad who assessed his injury.

Lundstram suffered an ankle injury in the draw with Portsmouth at the Keepmoat on Saturday and he will now be in a race against time to be fit for the trip to Scunthorpe United on Saturday.

Rovers boss Brian Flynn will be desperate for Lundstram to be fit with fellow midfielders Martin Woods, Paul Keegan and David Syers injured and new signing Dean Furman away on international duty.
