Doncaster Rovers boss Darren Ferguson says there has been little interest in transfer listed Harry Middleton.

The 22-year-old was placed on the transfer list by Ferguson at the end of last season despite making 30 appearances in helping the side win promotion from League Two.

Middleton was one of five players placed on the transfer list by Ferguson along with Andy Williams, Ross Etheridge, Cedric Evina and Mitchell Lund. Williams has since been taken off the list whilst Evina and Lund have gone out on loan for the season. Ferguson is reportedly trying to do a deal with goalkeeper Etheridge after he broke his ankle in training last week but the Doncaster boss says there has been little interest in Middleton.

“There`s been nothing concrete which is surprising really,” Ferguson told The Sheffield Star.

“Swindon showed an interest but nothing came of it.

“We`ll just have to wait and see what happens there.”

Middleton spent last week in Scotland with the Doncaster squad as they prepare for the new season. Fans will get their first opportunity to see the first team in action on Tuesday evening when they face Armthorpe Welfare in their first pre-season friendly.
