On loan Manchester City midfielder Rodney Kongolo says he is very happy to be staying with Doncaster Rovers for the remainder of the season and the fans haven`t seen the best of him yet.

The Netherlands under-19 international has extended his loan deal until the end of the season at the Keepmoat after spending the first half of the season with Doncaster.

The 19-year-old has made 28 appearances for Doncaster so far this season and he feels there is more to come from him in the second half of the season.

“I`m very happy to be staying here until the end of the season, I`ve been enjoying my football and I always wanted to stay, especially for a full season, because you develop that relationship with the players here and that can help,” Kongolo told the Doncaster Rovers website .

“I`m getting minutes in and getting to know people, playing in this league has been very good, it`s much harder physically and technically to understand everything quickly, it`s very different to what I`ve been used to.

“You haven`t seen the best of me yet, I want to score more goals, but my highlight has to be the game against Arsenal, that was such a great experience for me, and now I`m looking forward to earning my place in the side now and I`m looking to fight for a spot.’

Kongolo was one of four players who saw their loan deal at Doncaster end on January 3rd. Chelsea midfielder Jordan Houghton has extended his loan deal for the remainder of the season but Ben Whiteman has returned to Sheffield United and Harry Toffolo has returned to Norwich City.

A deal was in place for Whiteman to remain at Doncaster but an injury crisis at Bramall Lane has forced his return to the Championship club whilst Toffolo recently returned to Norwich after suffering an injury.
