Doncaster Rovers are on the verge of signing defender Tom Kennedy from Rochdale according to reports.

Sky Sports News are stating that the defender has agreed a three year deal with Rovers and they will land him on a free transfer as he is out of contract at the end of this month with Rochdale.

The 24 year old who has been included in the League Two team of the year in the past two seasons, has been linked with Rovers since April and boss Sean O`Driscoll confirmed earlier in the week that initial talks had already taken place.

Rovers are definitely in the hunt for a new left back after the departure of Gareth Roberts to Derby County last month.

With a number of clubs also showing an interest it looks like things have moved on at a pace with Rovers looking like they have landed the highly sort after defender.
