Doncaster Rovers will send influential Captain Rob Jones for scans today after the defender looked to suffer a reoccurrence of the neck injury that kept him out of the side for most of last season.

Jones was taken off after just twelve minutes of the draw with Preston and the giant defender will see a specialist today.

Speaking about Jones on BBC Radio Sheffield, Rovers boss Paul Dickov said, “He caught an elbow in the neck in the opening minutes and he`s had a reaction.

“We will get him scanned on Wednesday and he will see the specialist. Fingers crossed it isn`t too bad.”

Jones suffered the initial injury in the warm up before the game with Brighton in November last year, ruling him out for the rest of the season. He was only given the all clear to return to first team action on the eve of the season and his injury will be a blow for Rovers.
