Doncaster Rovers captain Rob Jones is set for scans on the injury that forced him to pull out of the game with Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday minutes before the kick-off.

Jones suffered a neck injury during the warm-up and Rovers boss Paul Dickov says it is a big worry for him at the moment.

“We lost Rob five minutes before kick-off,” Dickov told Radio Sheffield.

“He is going for a scan on Sunday. He went up for a header and he felt something go in the back of his neck and he has lost the feeling in his arm, so it looks like a nerve problem.

“We don`t know if it is anything to do with his injury at Reading a few weeks ago but it is a worry for us.”

The injury to Jones saw Luke McCullough come into the starting eleven, making his first appearance for the club following his arrival from Manchester United in the summer.

McCullough couldn`t help halt Rovers recent poor run as they lost 3-1 to Brighton.

It was a bad day for Rovers all-round. As well as losing Jones, Theo Robinson was also forced to withdraw from the squad on the morning of the game after feeling a tight hamstring.
