Young Doncaster Rovers defender Danny Amos made a goalscoring debut for Northern Ireland.
Amos started for Northern Ireland under-19s in their first group game in the latest stage of qualification for the tournament finals next summer.
The 17-year-old looked to be giving Northern Ireland the perfect start to their group when he opened the scoring in the 63rd minute against host nation Poland.
Amos fired home a left foot shot from a well-worked corner kick.
Unfortunately for Northern Ireland, Poland scored twice in the remainder of the game to inflict a 2-1 defeat on Northern Ireland.
Northern Ireland face Germany next on Saturday October 7th and they finish the group with a clash against Belarus on Tuesday October 10th.
The top two from each group will go through to the final round of qualifying.
