Doncaster Rovers boss Darren Ferguson says there has been some interest in transfer listed midfielder Harry Middleton.

Middleton was one of five players transfer listed by Ferguson at the end of last season and apart from goalkeeper Ross Etheridge who is on the sidelines with a broken leg, the midfielder is the only one left to find a new club.

Ferguson says there is interest in the midfielder from the non-league and north of the border.

“There has been one or two interested,” Ferguson told BBC Radio Sheffield.

“Halifax have shown an interest and a Scottish team have shown an interest.

“For both him and for us, the sensible thing would be to do a loan until January.”

Middleton came through the Doncaster youth system and he has made 78 appearances for the club since making his debut as a 17-year-old in 2012.
