Out of contract Doncaster Rovers defender Sam Hird is the target of two clubs interested in adding him to their squads next season.

Rovers boss Dean Saunders has already expressed his desire to keep the 24-year-old at the Keepmoat next season but he could lose out having yet to offer the defender a new deal.

Hird made 34 appearances for Rovers last season and he has now made 159 appearances for the club since signing in February 2007.

Crawley Town and Chesterfield are two clubs reportedly interested in signing Hird.

Crawley are now managed by former Doncaster boss Sean O`Driscoll and they will come up against each other in League One next season.

Chesterfield will be playing in League Two next season after just one season in League One.
