Doncaster Rovers manager Dean Saunders is hoping to sort out a deal to bring back defender Herita Ilunga to the club.

Ilunga has returned to West Ham United after coming to the end of his loan deal at the Keepmoat.

The defender arrived at the Keepmoat at the start of October and he had played in all fifteen Doncaster games following his arrival.

The Congolese international returned to Upton Park after the game with Barnsley on Monday.

Ilunga was named in the championship team of the week for his performance against Barnsley as he helped Rovers win 2-0.

The 29 year old had made five appearances for West Ham this season before joining Rovers and he could go straight into the injury hit hammers squad for their FA Cup clash with Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday.
