Doncaster Rovers defender Sam Hird has signed a new one year deal with the club.

Hird was out of contract at the end of last season but has put pen to paper, keeping him at the club until the end of next season.

The 23 year old made 35 appearances last season in the Rovers defence.

Hird made his debut for the club during the 2006/07 season whilst on loan from Leeds United and made the deal permanent during the summer.

The defender has now made 125 appearances for the club since his arrival, becoming a regular in the side in the last three seasons.

The Doncaster born player becomes the second out of contract player to sign a new deal this week after veteran goalkeeper Neil Sullivan signed a new one-year deal.
