Former Doncaster Rovers striker Nathan Tyson is having a trial with League One side Port Vale.
Tyson left the Keepmoat this summer after exercising a right to terminate his contract with the club following their relegation from League One.
The 34-year-old is currently training with Port Vale and he came off the bench to feature in their pre-season friendly against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend.
New Port Vale manager Bruno Ribeiro is keen to sign Tyson, who spent two-years at the Keepmoat. He finished his first season at the club as the top scorer, scoring 14 goals including a hat-trick in the final day win over Scunthorpe United.
Last season, he struggled to regain that form and he scored just seven goals in 36 appearances.
