Former Doncaster Rovers defender Pascal Chimbonda is back in England and having a trial with League One side Tranmere Rovers.

The 34-year-old has been without a club since leaving Doncaster at the end of the 2011/12 season.

Chimbonda played for Northern League side Market Drayton last week and he came off the bench for the final ten minutes for Tranmere on Saturday as they went down to a 2-0 defeat at Wrexham.

The former French international made 16 appearances for Rovers in their relegation season of 2011/12, as the club experimented with football agent Willie McKay by bringing in former Premier League players in the hope of giving them a shop window.
