Former Doncaster Rovers loan player Herita Ilunga is back training with the club.

Ilunga spent three months on loan with Rovers from West Ham earlier in the season and made 15 appearances between October and January.

The 30-year-old Congolese international returned to Upton Park where his contract was terminated with the East London club by mutual consent.

The defender has maintained his fitness training with League One side Leyton Orient during two months without a club.

Ilunga has been training with Rovers and boss Dean Saunders is looking to work out a deal with the defender to bring him to the club.

In a strange twist of fate, if Ilunga was to sign this weekend he could line up against his former club West Ham on Saturday with usual left back Tommy Spurr struggling with a groin injury.
