Doncaster Rovers boss Darren Ferguson admitted he didn`t feel his side deserved to win after twice leading before having to settle for a draw at Portsmouth.

Doncaster made it five draws from their six league games in 2018 in a 2-2 draw at Fratton Park and despite going ahead twice, Ferguson admitted he couldn`t argue with the result.

‘Do I think we deserved to win the game? No,” Ferguson told BBC Radio Sheffield.

‘We didn’t deserve to win the game on the performance but we were resilient.”

James Coppinger and John Marquis twice put Doncaster ahead but goals from Anton Walkes and Brett Pitman made it 2-2.

Portsmouth finished the game with nine-men with outfield player Kai Naismith finishing the game in goal.

Naismith was forced to go in goal after an injury to Stephen Henderson having already made their three substitutions.

Christian Burgess was then sent off in injury time and despite seven minutes of added time, Doncaster couldn`t find a winner.
