Doncaster Rovers boss Darren Ferguson says he is looking to build a strong team spirit and togetherness during pre-season.

Doncaster have just returned from a week`s training in Scotland and with eight new players joining the club this summer, Ferguson says it has been good for the squad, who have been put through their paces since returning to training two weeks ago.

“The players have been very good. We`ve got a lot of work into them,” Doncaster boss Darren Ferguson told the Sheffield Star.

“We`ve split the sessions with ball work and running. We`ve done a lot of shape work already.

“They`ve taken on all the information and we`re just hoping that during pre-season we create that really good team spirit and togetherness that is key really.”

Doncaster kick-off their pre-season programme with a game against local amateur side Rossington Main on Tuesday July 12th.

Premier League side Middlesbrough visiting the Keepmoat next Saturday, July 16th and it is quickly followed with another home clash against Newcastle United on Wednesday, July 20th.

Trips to Kidderminster Harriers on Saturday July 23rd and then Coventry City on Friday July 29th complete the pre-season programme.

Doncaster kick-off their League Two campaign with a trip to Accrington Stanley on Saturday August 6th.
