Doncaster Rovers boss Darren Ferguson says it will be a fast and furious end to the season.

Doncaster find themselves with eight games remaining in the final 28-days of the season, starting at Gillingham today.

Trips to Gillingham and MK Dons are next up for Doncaster in the next week before they face six games in the final 19-days of the season, with five out of six of the games at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Doncaster face the fixture pile-up after their games with Bury, Blackburn Rovers and AFC Wimbledon have all been called off in the past month and Ferguson says it will be easier if they can continue to pick up points, as they come into the clash at Gillingham having enjoyed back-to-back wins.

“It`s going to be fast and furious,” Ferguson told BBC Radio Sheffield.

“We can make it a lot more comfortable and easier for ourselves if we find a way of winning the next couple of games.

“If you do that then you`re probably wanting as many games as possible in such a quick time, because momentum will carry you through it.”

Doncaster will feel one win from their final eight games will be enough to guarantee their safety in League One having moved onto 49 points with their last two wins.

A win today at Gillingham, somewhere they have a poor record having won just twice in their 29 visits, will allow Doncaster to focus on a top-half finish this season.
