Doncaster Rovers boss Darren Ferguson is expecting a tough game on Friday night when they welcome Rochdale to the Keepmoat.

Doncaster have made the perfect start to the busy festive period with back-to-back wins for the first time this season. An away win at Bristol Rovers last Saturday was followed by an emphatic 3-0 home win against Northampton Town on Boxing Day.

The two wins have lifted Doncaster away from the relegation places and they know going into the clash with Rochdale that they will move into the top half of the table with at least a point.

Ferguson admits at this stage, he us just concentrating on getting the three points more than the performance.

“It will be a hard game on Friday night,” Ferguson told the Doncaster Rovers official website .

“I have to keep going back to it, it`s all about getting the three points if we can and there will be no excuses from my players,”

Doncaster have already faced Rochdale twice this season. They lost a League One clash 2-1 earlier in the season. when they led going into injury time, and they were then beaten on penalties in the Checkatrade Trophy last month.

Rochdale will visit Doncaster twice in eight days with Keith Hill bringing his side to the Keepmoat for the league game on Friday night followed by a FA Cup Third Round tie the following Saturday.
