Having already enjoyed a trip to Arsenal in the Carabao Cup earlier this season, Doncaster Rovers boss Darren Ferguson is hoping for another top team away when the draw for the FA Cup Third Round takes place on Monday evening.

Doncaster narrowly lost 1-0 at Arsenal in the Carabao Cup and Ferguson is hoping for another trip to a top Premier League side in front of a big crowd that would give the fans a great day out as well as being financially rewarding to the club.

“You want one of the two, either a good one at home to continue the cup run or you get one of the top teams,” Ferguson told BBC Radio Sheffield.

“We have been very fortunate to get Arsenal. “One of the top teams away from home is really what it is all about.”

Doncaster`s last big away day in the FA Cup came back in 1985 when they lost 2-0 at current FA Cup holders and eventual Champions Everton.

In recent years, Doncaster made the trip to Aston Villa for an FA Cup replay in 2009 where they lost 3-1 and Wolverhampton Wanderers, also for a replay, where they lost 5-0 in 2011.
