Doncaster Rovers boss Darren Ferguson was delighted to see his side book their place in the third round of the Carabao Cup following a 2-0 win against Hull City.

Alfie May and Tommy Rowe scored second half goals for Doncaster to ensure they booked their place in the next round.

“I`m delighted. We`re in the third round and it`s a while since I`ve been in it so I am delighted,” Ferguson told BBC Radio Sheffield .

“We got a clean sheet, first home win of the season and we got minutes into a lot of the players who hadn`t played many games. There were lots of positives.

“The second half was a lot better than the first but overall it was a good night.

“There were a lot of things to take out of tonight,”

Doncaster will find out their third round opponents on Thursday morning when the draw is made in Beijing at 4.15am.
