Doncaster Rovers boss Paul Dickov says the players are raring to go ahead of the season opener against Blackpool on Saturday.
Dickov will take charge of his first competitive game for Rovers after arriving in the summer and he feels all the hard work put in during pre-season will help the players on Saturday.
“The lads are really raring to go,” Dickov told the official website
“The last couple of days we have tone the training down a little bit and on Saturday they can take out all their frustrations that they have got with me for absolutely hammering them for the last six weeks.
“The one thing they are is fit and they are looking really sharp and as I said Saturday is when it matters.”
The players returned for pre-season training early and they have remained unbeaten in their warm-up games. The players also spent five days away at a training camp in Portugal.
Dickov could hand debuts to Ross Turnbull, Bongani Khumalo and Mark Duffy.
Dean Furman, who completed a permanent deal at the Keepmoat this summer after ending last season on loan and Richie Wellens, who returns to the club after four-years at Leicester City, could also start.
