Doncaster Rovers boss Paul Dickov says he has been in contact with his former Oldham Athletic defender Jean Yves M`voto.

The central defender is out of contract this summer after three years at Boundary Park and Dickov says they are looking at the situation with M`Voto being a free agent at the start of July.

Speaking on Radio Sheffield, Dickov said, “Jean is a player I know well. He is a player that I believe playing at a higher level will be better.

“There has been contact that is no secret, so we will wait and see what happens. He is out of contract on July 1st. It is something we are looking at and with him being available on a free; we believe he would be a good player.”

24-year-old M`Voto started his career with French giants Paris Saint Germain before being snapped up by English Premier League side Sunderland.

The 6`4′ centre back played 49 times for Oldham last season including the three games against Doncaster and he picked up a number of player of the season awards.
