New Doncaster Rovers manager Paul Dickov says he is concentrating on sorting out new deals for those players at the club who come to the end of their current contracts at the end of this month.

Rovers issued their released and retained list last month and of fourteen players out of contract at the end of this month, they want to sit down with nine of them to offer them new deals.

Dickov, who arrived at the club just over two weeks ago, says new deals will be offered to the out of contract players this week, as they start to return from their summer breaks.

Speaking on the Doncaster Rovers official website , Dickov said, “At the minute we are looking to get the players that are out of contract sorted. We are working on this but it`s quite difficult because some of them are on holiday. I`m someone who likes to sit down face to face with a player and have a conversation with him. That`s been ongoing, and we`re planning on building a strong squad for the Championship next season.

“We want to get things tied down as soon as possible, and the offers to the out of contract players will be going in this week. We`re hopeful that things will be sorted out pretty soon, and then we can start looking to bring more quality players in.”

Kyle Bennett, Chris Brown, Andy Griffin, Paul Keegan, Jon Maxted, Paul Quinn, Tommy Spurr, Neil Sullivan and Liam Wakefield are the nine players that are to be offered new deals by the club.
