Norwich City defender Harry Toffolo says he would like to return to Doncaster Rovers in the New Year after cutting short his loan spell through injury.

Toffolo, who was due to return to Norwich in early January, returned to Carrow Road recently after suffering a broken foot in the game at Oxford United earlier this month.

The 22-year-old is expected to return to full fitness during the January transfer window and the full-back says he would be happy to return to the club.

“I have really enjoyed my time here and learnt a lot from all the staff, so I`d be happy to stay here. Progression is the important thing for me at this stage in my career,” Toffolo told the Doncaster Rovers official website.

“Obviously with the injury now it is down to the two clubs to come to an agreement that suits everyone.”

Toffolo made 17 appearances during his loan spell with Doncaster having joined the club in August on a short-term loan deal until January.
