Doncaster Rovers defender Adam Lockwood made a welcome return for Rovers in the friendly with Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday after eight months out through injury.
The defender made nineteen appearances last season but he hasn`t played since the home game with Barnsley at the end of January due to a knee injury that eventually required surgery.
Lockwood played the second half of the friendly at Sheffield Wednesday as Rovers ran out 3-2 winners.
The 29 year old is the latest Rovers player to return to action following Billy Sharp and Ryan Mason recently.
With the additions of Pascal Chimbonda and Herita Ilunga in the last week, new boss Dean Saunders as the rarity of a decent sized squad to pick from.
Rovers have had a crippling injury list in 2011, which at its peak saw fourteen players on the sidelines in February.
This season started no better with seven players recovering from long term injuries before a ball was kicked.
It was made even worse when Billy Sharp, James Hayter and Ryan Mason all suffered injuires in the opening two games of the season that meant they would spend a minimum of a month on the sidelines.
Despite all the players coming back, Rovers still have James Chambers, Martin Woods, Paul Keegan and Chris Brown on the sidelines.
