One Direction star Louis Tomlinson is reported to be keen to buy hometown club Doncaster Rovers.

Tomlinson, who made a charity appearance for the reserves last season, is working alongside former chairman John Ryan to make a multi-million bid to buy the club.

The club have confirmed that they are in talks with an unnamed external party who are interested in buying the club.

The club also went on to say that they were looking for a quick conclusion to the talks and they would only do what was in the best interest of the club.

Last season, John Ryan left his post as chairman of the club after 16-years at the helm, which had seen Rovers rise from non-league obscurity to the championship.

Ryan left after a disagreement with fellow owners Terry Bramall and Dick Watson after the duo turned down a bid from Sequential Capital consortium to buy the club.
