Doncaster Rovers midfielder James Coppinger is now just one league appearance away from reaching another club milestone.
Coppinger played his 499th league game for Doncaster at Portsmouth on Saturday, a game in which he scored, and he is set to make his 500th appearance for the club in the Football League if he features against Charlton Athletic at the Keepmoat Stadium next weekend.
The 37-year-old, who is in his fourteenth year with the club, already holds the clubs record for appearances, having broken the record of 468 in all competitions by Colin Douglas when he featured in the FA Cup tie against Stalybridge Celtic in November 2015.
The midfielder has currently made 446 starts for Doncaster with a further 53 from the substitute`s bench.
Coppinger has now made 563 appearances for the club in total and he recently started the 500th Football League game of his career across four clubs dating back to the year 2000.
In total, he has made 685 appearances since making a goalscoring debut whilst on loan at Hartlepool United from Newcastle United in March 2000.
His 685 appearances also includes one Premier League appearance when he came on as a 77th for Newcastle United against Tottenham Hotspur. Newcastle won the game 2-0 in a side that included Alan Shearer, Shay Given, Gary Speed Kieran Dyer and Nolberto Solano.
