Doncaster Rovers defender Pascal Chimbonda says he will be happy to stay at the Keepmoat past his short-term deal.
Chimbonda was manager Dean Saunders first signing at the Keepmoat, signing a short-term deal keeping him with the club until January.
The experienced defender is currently on the sidelines with a hip injury and was a guest on Sky Sports, Soccer am show on Saturday morning. Speaking to the hosts Max Rushden and Helen Chamberlain, Chimbonda says he would be happy to stay at Doncaster.
“If we are doing well at Doncaster, and the team are doing well then why wouldn`t I stay until the end of the season and even stay for more.
“The club have big ambitions to stay in the championship and after that we will see what happens in the future.
“I would be happy to stay.”
The defender is one of seven players brought in by Dean Saunders on short-term deals in a move to put them in the shop window during the January transfer window.
El Hadji Diouf and now Chimbonda have both said that they would like to extend their stay at the Keepmoat past January.
Saunders latest signing Lamine Diatta is still waiting for international clearance and he was unable to take part in Saturday`s 2-1 defeat at Birmingham City.
With the busy festive period almost upon Rovers, Saunders hopes he will have received clearance in time for next Saturday`s home game with Leicester City.
