Rovers have kicked off their Joma South West Challenge cup tonight against Barnstaple Town; they are well on their way to their first win, leading 4-0 at half time.
Rovers took the lead in the fifth minute after the Barnstaple number five turned a mazy run by Dumbuya into his own net.
Dumbuya was causing problems down the Rovers right, after another good run and cross the ball was turned over the bar for a corner.
Rovers were enjoying most of the early possession and chances, Simon Gillett was next to go close, his shot gathered by the Barnstaple keeper.
Hayter was next to go close, his shot was excellently pushed wide for a corner by the keeper.
Shelton Martis doubled the lead from the resulting corner when he got his head to Martin Woods corner.
It was almost three soon afterwards when Hayter was once again thwarted by an excellent save.
It was soon 3-0 on 31 minutes, when Friend scored from another Rovers corner, the ball was played out to Sam Hird who found Friend in the area who scored with his head.
Simon Gillett made it 4-0 on 35 minutes as Rovers were easing to victory before half time in their first game, he drilled his shot from the right angle to give the keeper no chance.
It was almost 5-0 minutes later when a clever one-two between Coppinger and Gillett saw the ball come back off the woodwork from Coppinger`s shot.
Rovers went in at half time 4-0 and could quite easily have scored six or seven after dominating.
