Doncaster Rovers suffered back-to-back defeats for the first time since September as Blackburn Rovers secured promotion back to the Championship with a 1-0 win at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Charlie Mulgrew scored the only goal of the game with just ten minutes remaining to ensure Blackburn, who had over 3500 fans at the Keepmoat, could celebrate promotion.

In a tight game, Blackburn created the better chances but poor finishing and some heroic last-ditch defending kept the game goalless until Mulgrew headed home.

Blackburn striker Danny Graham had the best chances to open the scoring but the striker, who has netted 17 goals this season, couldn’t find the net.

Graham dragged a shot across the goal after rounding Marko Marosi in the Doncaster goal, he then failed to apply the finishing touch with the goal at his mercy after Marosi, and Doncaster defender Andy Butler had somehow kept the ball out of the goal.
