Doncaster Rovers were denied a crucial three points on Saturday after conceding an equaliser deep into stoppage time.
Doncaster looked set to claim the three points against their South Yorkshire neighbours Rotherham United after Richard Wood put through his own goal just past the hour but Kieffer Moore scored his 13th goal of the season for Rotherham in the sixth minute of stoppage time to deny Doncaster the win.
Whilst Doncaster had plenty of possession in the game they struggled to create any clear goal scoring chances. Referee Graham Scott waved away penalty appeals on three occasions, much to the frustration of the home side.
The first appeal was waved away when John Marquis went down in the area after what looked like a tangle of legs with the Rotherham defender.
Rotherham somehow failed to score in the first half when they twice hit the underside of the crossbar in one attack. Semi Ajayi had the first effort and Wood followed up only to see his header claimed on the line by Doncaster goalkeeper Ian Lawlor.
Moore almost gave the visitors the lead on the stroke of half time when his deflected header went just wide of a post.
Doncaster had a second penalty appeal waved away when Marquis saw his shot at goal stopped by the hand of Wood but once again, Scott waved away the appeals.
Doncaster went ahead just past the hour when a dangerous cross from Rodney Kongolo was steered home by the outstretched leg of Wood.
The Doncaster goal was living a charmed life at times and Jonson Clarke-Harris rattled the woodwork when his effort came back off a post and Will Vaulks saw his effort from the rebound deflected wide.
Doncaster had a third penalty appeal waved away when Joe Wright was hauled down in the penalty area at a Doncaster corner, but once again, Scott ignored the appeals.
Just as it looked like Doncaster had seen out injury time, Moore equalised at the third attempt. Lawlor did well to block a David Ball effort and Moore saw his follow up effort blocked but the striker, who is enjoying his loan spell at Rotherham from Ipswich Town, scored at his second attempt to break the hearts of the Doncaster side.
