Doncaster Rovers snatched defeat from the jaws of victory after conceding twice in second half injury time to lose 2-1 at Rochdale.

Doncaster looked to be heading towards three points when John Marquis put them ahead on 74 minutes but goals from Mark Kitching and Steven Davies inflicted a second straight defeat on Doncaster.

Ian Lawlor had saved an early Steven Davies penalty to keep Doncaster level in the game until the final quarter.

Marquis put Doncaster ahead with just 16 minutes remaining when he slammed the ball home for his third goal of the season after Andy Williams shot had come back off the post.

Lawlor had kept Doncaster in the game with a string of good saves including the penalty and just when it looked like his heroics were going to earn the side three points, they were undone for the leveller two minutes into stoppage time. Second half substitute Kitching smashed home an unstoppable shot past Lawlor to bring the scores level and two minutes later, Davies found space to fire home to the dismay of Doncaster.
