Doncaster Rovers boss Paul Dickov says he intends to speak with Aston Villa over the next few days about the possibility of keeping defender Enda Stevens on loan.

Stevens, who has been at the Keepmoat since November, is due to return to Villa after the game with Middlesbrough this weekend but Dickov is keen to extend the deal of the 23-year-old defender.

Speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield, Dickov said, “I have spoken to Enda. I will not say too much because we haven`t spoken to his club but we will be talking to them in the next few days.”

Stevens has made nine appearances for Rovers since his arrival but the one obstacle could be his lack of games in recent weeks since the return to full fitness of James Husband.
